If you had been driving the MB it would be in good shape.
I don't know about that. Perhaps we should arrange for a test. Any volunteers?

There are some questionable used car dealers around here that would give it a quick wax job and market it as the worlds first 6 wheel Jetta. Hey at least the blood matches the paint.
In this day and age of 'space-savers', how could anyone complain about two full-sized spares? [:p]

RE: Had a little accident going to work today...

In my clown-shoe days I was coming down Lincoln Avenue at about 5:30 in the morning after a night of conviviality, when I spotted a big, black, square empty patch in the middle of the road. There was a flashing horse lying on the ground beside it. At 60+ mph, I had about 3 seconds to make a decision. Assuming it was a 5 inch hole and the horse had been knocked down by a previous unfortunate soul, I laid the sucker down skidding on peg and kneecap for about 20 yards. I came to a halt directly on top of the black abyss which was actually a freshly steamrolled patch of asphalt that was perfectly level with the street. I must have looked like a real jackass, lol.

Now we know why Suzuki named their bikes Katana.
Not to nitpick, but the one involved in this stupid accident wasn't a 'Zuki...

My casual observations indicate that there is a strong positive correlation between the number of decals
affixed to a bike and the asinine antics of the rider while on public roadways.

Of course the same can be said about all the decal-laden, riced-up, fart-exhaust "tuner" cars out there.

...not that I have an opinion...

Not at the present time, but I have owned both a 230SL and a 380SL. I had the 380 in particular for quite a long time. I've been toying with the idea of picking up a mid-90s SL500 in lieu of my Stealth TT (48K miles), but I hate to part with the Stealth...

You're a nut! What were you on, anyways? (I hope you meant "5 foot hole".) [:D]

RE: Had a little accident going to work today...

Damn near made myself a hood ornament on a Ford Explorer with my Katana back in '96. In order to miss a fellow rider and friend who mysteriously nailed the brakes mid corner as I was going to blast around him, I had to go into oncoming traffic, as we were on a two lane curve, in order to barely miss him.
Never will forget the stupid look of oh shit on the woman's face as she stared at me, hands stone cold fixed straight ahead on her wheel. I swerved back with probably inches to spare. I soon pulled over, took my helmet off and relaxed in someone's front grass. My silly friend wondered what the big deal was.

Good choice on a SL500. My next car also. Reasonable $
