Skijouring anyone?

Think my black lab (Mr. Stinky) would make a good candidate? I have watched other skijourers while walking him and it seems like a lot of fun and he insist on walking me anyways!I have cross country skis and a harness but I don't really want to cause him any hip problems.Mostly what I see are Malamutes and Newfoundlands performing this task but have seen other dogs of similar size also.I'm sure there won't be very many replies but appreciate any feedback.

RE: Skijouring anyone?

I used to have my lab pull me on roller blades. We'd go for a 2.5 mile ride everyday. He loved it. But he was a bigger lab, 140 lbs of solid muscle. If your dog is of decent size, I wouldn't see it being a problem.

My dog is a chow/retriever mix, she runs like a deer and would probably drag me through bushes. Not chancin it.

RE: Skijouring anyone?

yeah, if your dog can walk/run in a straight line it's a good candidate.. both my pit and my g shep can do it. (both around 60lbs ea.)
