Marsden
"I recommend "A Secret Wish" by Propaganda (!) ..German techno..

Although most people under 30 or over 45 seem to hate it. "

By strange coincidence,I downloaded a lot of tracks from that album (my original was on cassette[:(]) a few weeks ago, including a 9 minute remix version of 'Duel'.My 14 yr old daughter gave me the "stick that up your arse" look.Another friend to whom I sent it made no comment either.Seems you are completely correct with your analysis.

Got any Anna Pigalle or Art of Noise, also from the Trevor Horn stable? He was also responsible for FGTH and I burned a remix of 'Relax' the other day which sounds really fresh despite making me feel old.

My favourite John Holt tracks are 'Riding for a fall' and 'Lost'-from the album 'Pledging my love'.

Why Buggles, of course.

"Video Killed the Radio Star" is the most famous track, but the as far as the completeness of the album is concerned, "The Age of Plastic" is way up there.

I do like the VKtRS but another gem on that album is "Elstree"

Isn't that where BBC Studios are/were located?

Anything by Prodigy.

How about some old school Ministry.

A little Rammstien.

Some Mommus.

A little Bach & Bathoven.

Some Foo Fighters, NIN, Nickleback, and Bestie Boys.

VKtRS is famous for being the first work EVER played on MTV

BBC have never been at Elstree, but it's a famous hub for the British movie industry.Without checking I'm not certain but I think the Bond movies and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang were made there to name but a few.

[Little known fact-Chitty Chitty Bang Bang supposedly refers to a 'chitty'( a paper pass or ticket)issued to British soldiers in WW1 which meant they were able to get a short leave from the trenches and visit the local brothel for a bit of R+R]

A piece of trivia that keeps appearing on various quiz shows [:)].

I used to see the vids on 'Top of the Pops" hosted by Noel Edmonds, Dave Lee Travis, Jimmy Savile, Tony Blackburn...

I prefer listening to the entire album especially those issued prior to advent of internet and single track downloads. There is more coherence from track to track and the concept of an album is much stronger.

XTC - Skylarking (US version with "Dear God" in it)
Country Life, Avalon - Roxy Music

It's basically Baroque's Greatest Hits, except it's not from K-Tel. Great Sunday brunch music [:)].

RE: the tell me what songs to download thread

you know, ive always had a thing for dick van dyke.

young, thin, in a suit on black and white tv dick van dyke. something about those tall lanky boys just makes me crazy.

leverage, maybe? [}:)]

i have plenty of ella fitzgerald. and i have to say that shes about the best that has been suggested. heh heh it scares me a bit, but i have turned into an adult and i cant listen to the music of my teenage years anymore-- it hurts my head.

it was sometime around when bjork, tori amos, dolores o'riordan(and all of the cranberries for that matter) had children and took the adult contemporary career track. i also very much have taken a liking to natalie merchant and belle and sebastian--much more than i did in my earlier days. i also adore the cat in heat noises sinead o'connor makes. a lot.

is there any way to publish a listing of all of ones music library? it'd be nice if we could all share our track listings, wouldnt it?
