Not innocent.

Naive.

B
Bot,
Of course "naive" is the correct word. I was having a "senior moment" and was unsure of its spelling. Of course, if I has missspellled it, the libs would have felt smug and superior.

You know, that is the question that comes to my mind when I read so many of the liberal/ progressive arguments---"Are you so naive as to believe that____?"
I have lost track of who is naive. The way I see it, believing you are going to get lawmakers to pass laws that punish the lawmakers for accepting money for crafting laws that promote special interests for money from the special interests, and then get the enforcement types to go after the lawmakers that break laws they wrote, and make it stick so the law breaking lawmakers get to spend some serious time having the golden rule forcibly and unrelentingly implanted inside the core of their souls by fellow cellmates, is, well, naive.

So, now that we all know we think we are all naive, we can go back to ranting about political and social stereotypes and how inadequate the other side is, naively. Jim
Exactly. The only answer is for people to pay attention to those who govern them. This isn't going to happen.

It is difficult to enforce any REAL change in the governemt, since it is the government that has to change itself.
It may be naive, or simply wishful thinking. Like supporting candidates who run on the issue of term limits, and then decide to stay in office forever.

All too true. And with the advent of the "Incumbant Re-election Act" Also known as the McCain-Feingold "Campaign Finance Reform Act," it is even more excruciatingly difficult to shitcan those worthless bastards.
