I'm now expecting to hear of a few Norwegian 'fishing' boats in the estuary.

The Japanese banks and trading houses have given their employees the afternoon off-for research purposes only of course.

The Thames? Why the hell would it swim up that polluted sewer canal that no one (native) pronounces correctly? Must be in suicide mode.

RE: Whale.

You surprise me Shane,I had you down as well informed. The Thames is the cleanest major industrial river in Europe. It has many species of fish and other fauna which live along it's entire (188 mile) length. You can catch salmon in central London. And today,if you have big enough bait and tackle, you can catch a whale.[;)]
