what a day

awakened by a loud thud shortly after 1am, check the house inside, and outside in driving rain, turns out a bough had fallen just missing the house by inches.

By the time I'm inside, I'm wide awake so I decide to ostracize culturally challenged forum members and go back to bed.

Wake up 4 hours later only to be greeted by power outage, and discover another branch had fallen and is blocking the driveway. Wind gusts of up to 50mph are recorded in the region. Trees have fallen all over the county, cutting power and blocking roads. Meanwhile, temperature inside the house gradually lowers throughout the day until power was restored just after 5pm.

Cable/Internet finally restored shortly before 8:00pm. Watch American Idol and have homemade chicken soup for dinner.

All is well that ends well.

RE: what a day

Same thing happened during the Labor Day Storm, we had a few years back. We had a tornado and everything, and we NEVER have those in Central New York.

If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

RE: what a day

What's a bough? I know Holly doesn't make a thud, unless it's a fat chick named Holly who fell down the basement stairs after you whacked her in the head with a tire jack and removed her spleen but let's not make this anymore complicated. What's a bough?
