I think the court should be somewhat representive in nature. It's good we have a black man, a women, an old white man, an old white man, a middle aged white man, and now, a old white man. But this particular old white man also represents a faction long unrepresented on this court - while Hispanics now comprise some 25% of the voting population, they are nothing compared to Bush's core constituency - religous nuts. Thank God we now have someone to represent those who think the Earth is 3,000 years old, that women were concocted from ribs and are vessels of evil who should submit to their husbands.
What an idiotic idea! The Court is NOT to represent the citizens--the legislative bodies do that. The Court is the compare laws with the Constitution. The Court was not intended to modify the Constitution--there is a legislative process for that. The Constitution is NOT a living document; it is the rulebook for governing the country.
Do all those different ethnic/racial groups interpret the Constitution differently? Do they read conventional literature in vastly different ways? Its simply a red herring to say thet there must be diversity on the Court.
Don't let your hatred blind your native intelligence!
Bingo, to the point and so so true. When the Supreme Court made abortion legal with the Roe vs. Wade deal they in essence made law rather than interpret law. I think our future judge Alito must abolish this abomination and return us to sanity.
i can safely say that we men ought to have no part in abortion rights.
its a womens issue, it is womens lives that are affected by it, let them do what they feel needs to be done.
when a man has a living thing kicking, pushing and squirming inside of his gut, then he'll get that choice. till then, quit acting like you have any insight in the issue.
as for the supreme court making the decision, wasnt that a long time ago, like before i was a living being?
if they do renig on the deal and abortion becomes unlawful, will all those that had abortions in this window of legality be taken to court and fried like mr peterson?
