I get 96Mbps except when I am in the shadow of boiler flue enclosure (brick) where the signal level drops to 54 to 72Mbps
Naomilla, do you think it's the brick or the metal flue liner that's at fault? I'm assuming metal is more of a signal impediment than masonry. Have been wrestling with this issue at my place, where wifi isn't working so well. Thanks

Ya know what yoseyman, on closer inspection that plate appears to have a silver spoon, some white powder and aluminum foil on it. Hmm...

Yeah, but there's tons of foodstuffs on the desk too. Any crackhead I've ever encountered didn't eat. Ever.

I am no radio signal specialist but I think it's the combination of both. The thicker and denser the impediment, the more signal attenuation. Metal is definitely an efficient radio signal blocker -- compared to other materials of same thickness, metal will attenuate the signal more. Also, the brick can weaken the signal because of its thickness.

Have you tried relocating the signal source or invest in having multiple signal sources? (the idea, just as you would with task lighting, is to eliminate 'shadows' where you work)
