i have to say that this car is sort of exciting me. i mourn for the spunky little beast they left behind to bring this guy out, but he looks fairly handsome and will be offered with a slew of engine/drive/transmission choices!
a *turbo diesel*
CVT w/ 6 speed shift points so you dont feel the weird cvt no gear thing
manual 5 speed
offered in both FWD and AWD.
it looks to be priced at around 14-22
now all i want to do is drive a diesel awd with a manual transmission and a 2.4 turbo with it as well. i dont know which i'd rather have. do i want to go on streets really fast and race the wrx crowd or do i want a frugal small diesel that also will tow a w123 series mercedes ?
too bad theyll both be at the top of the pricing pyramid. i might have to deal with the 2.0(150hp) fwd model, itll be mid-line.
ive sort of hung up my dreams of a big v8 rwd car. i cannot afford a good one and my w123 has taught me noone with a life can maintain an old merc like the factory guys say. noone with pockets so shallow as mine, at least.
i am assuming(optimist, i am...) that after i finish the vw, i can sell it for 6500 bux, the neon with its small issues repaired would sell around 3,000 and the mercedes right around that, so i am not too far off of the base model pricing.
mom and dad also owe me a favor, see, they gave my sister TWO new cars and i only got one. she got an intrepid es and a taurus ses... i got a neon sport coupe.... i think i can pretty much assume that theyll kick in the rest to get me the trim package i want instead of having crank windows and a casette radio.
go build one, yall! i think mine will be in olive green with alloy wheels and camel heated seats(no going back once youve had a warm tush on a cold day, huh?)
sorry if im turning into a ranting fool(but is this as bad as a g wagon, be honest...[}:)]) about this lil car, but im all a flutter.
dustin likes the cars[:D]
a real world non glamor shot follows. i like this better, it shows the car as it will be, not how the professional imagemakers at chrysler want us to THINK it will be. add rear tint to it... no suv/wagon looks good without private rear glass... none of them.
