Powerhouse...

I just stumbled upon this one:

http://www.auto55.be/content/page.php?id=5390

Only 15 will be made for the worldwide market. It is tuned by a German tuning company called Weineck.
The engine is a 780 cu (yes, cubic inches)/12.9 litres) carburated V8.
Power of 1200hp peaks at 7000rpm, while 1760nm of torque (1300lb/ft) is all there at 5600rpm.
0-125mph in 4.9 seconds, 0-186mph in 10 seconds.
Starting the engine consumes 0,5 litres (or 0,13 gallons) of fuel.

this is sick[:0][}:)][:p]

RE: Powerhouse...

1. I like the rims, very benz like

2. To have that much horsepower, an only have a 4.9 sec 0-60(lol only), it must be pretty heavy..

If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

RE: Powerhouse...

LOL
I think the 0-300 kph time is even more impressive. But I really do not want to drive that car when temperature is below 0° C![:p]

I bet 0-60 is less than 3.0 seconds. Probably around 2.7 if you could shift fast enough. Damn.

yes I was already wondering: when speaking of such times, relatively much time is consumed by shifting, which would make the car on itself even faster then represented. The slower the car, the less difference the shifting time makes.

This 'car' makes the veyron look like crap performance wise.

RE: Powerhouse...

That is a badass car.

The biggest challenge would be getting all that power to the ground.

RE: Powerhouse...

Allow me to mention the greatest of all time, the Porsche 917 K30 developed for the Can Am series. If any of you recall the notoriety of the series was the unlimited class of the cars or just about show up with anything, it was the race of the big boys like the Chaparrals and so on, Porsche decided to enter the race with their 917 cars with a flat 12 4.7 liter engine, as they were not sure if the car would have enough meat Porsche developed a very out of character for them a 7,5 liter engine as a backup, but the highly supercharged engine proved to be so successful that it cleaned the races and in no time it was banned and the bigger engine was not needed, Porsche retired the cars to museums.
In 1973 I went to Dallas to see the car which was on display after the race, a few years ago I had the chance to talk to Hans Stuck at the Daytona 24 hrs, the old German pilot was still racing competitively, he used to drive the 917 back them, at the time the aerodynamics of the 917 were ahead of their time, even so at 220mph it was taking more than 800 hp to cut thru the wind, this being part of the conversation.
Back then the 917 was equal in 0 to 60 to a dragster with times in the 2 sec mark, keep in mind that a dragster is only capable to run for only a few seconds while the 917 had to run for hours.
Mark Donohue convinced Porsche to let him take a museum 917 to Talladega for an attempt to a record in a circuit, which he set a 213 miles (I think as I am going by memory) later on he said about his modified 917 that at 250mph he was still accelerating before he had brake to take the banks, at full boost the car was developing over 1500hp.

The record was broken a few years ago by an Indy car due to better aerodynamics.

It's got 315/35 tires in the rear, not extreme, but good enough i guess.
