A Sad message for a Believer in the U.S.A's Democracy-------Iraqi's BEWARE

Iraqi's BEWARE

Message by Prince Sisowath Sirik Matak of Cambodia to
Ambassador to Cambodia John Gunther Dean

"Dear Excellency and Friend, I thank you very sincerely for your letter and your offer to transport me towards freedom. I cannot, alas, leave in such a cowardly fashion. As for you, and in particular for your great country, I never believed for a moment that you would have this sentiment of abandoning a people, which has chosen liberty. You have refused us your protection, and we can do nothing about it. You leave, and my wish is that you and your country will find happiness under this sky. But, mark it well, that if I shall die here on the spot and in my country that I love, it is too bad, because we are all born and must die one day. I have committed this mistake of believing in you, the Americans."

RE: A Sad message for a Believer in the U.S.A's Democracy-------Iraqi's BEWARE

I'm glad he got to die for his own country, instead of us doing it for him. The idea that American boys should die for every third-world corruption pit makes my stomac turn. Why don't you bitches start your own fucking Army and send your own kids to die? Until the day this country is actually invaded by Cambodia, I really don't see much reason for my kid to die for some authoritarian king-fuck bitch - I don't see it now and I didn't see it then. The idea this "prince" believed in democracy, in that hellhole for corruption, where they still sell little kids for sex and leave their daughters to die on a hillside, was bullshit then, and its bullshit now. You bastards hijack our army, wave your yellow ribbons, and poof - 50,000 people die for nothing. Instead of looking for my kids guts for your fucking wars, why don't you just go to a slaughterhouse, get yourself a bucket of guts, and pour it on your fucking head? And if "Saigon" in your login name indicates what I think it does, why didn't you stay there yourself?

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

I agree. Talk about picking on an old scab.

Hard way to learn you must help yourself. It is all about business, liberty, freedom, etc., is just a righteous ploy to bring the sheep into the fold of goverment, any type of gov't.
Should have made a better business case. Take your blame elsewhere where it might hold some liquid.

Why? From history we can learn that if we get the hell out of people's way, they solve their own problems. Both Cambodia and Vietnam are stable emerging nations. Given the inherent corruption, especially the utterlly contemptible variety found in Asia, of market capitalism, Communism may actually be a useful period in their history, allowing all the hoodwinkers, kleptocrats, bribetakers, pimps, war profiteers and slavers to get nicely shot so that some kind of moral society can take place so that democracy can flower. It seems to be headed exactly that way in Asia. Of course, I'm sure you'd be happy if this princely fellow assumed his God-given right to rape and pillage his people, under US supervision of course, instead, you know, like what we do in Saudi Arabia, whose people repay us by flying suicide missions into our buildings. Yea, lets ignore history.

What? Did this guy get reincarnated in Iraq? Irrelevant in all ways. Doesn't even evoke emotion over logic, probably as intended. Volunteer Armed Services of today are a stark difference to draftees counting calender days until the freedom bird takes them home. Liberals need to learn that drawing into the "Vietnam equals Iraq" argument only empowers Bush's base. Swiftboat Vets torpedoed Kerry, but that is all Vietnamesque remembrances are good for related to political capital, IMHO. [:D]
