Best gifts

Show no mercy, tell me your best gift. Also if you say something gay like "A child's laughter" that doesn't count, you can't buy it and it's not tangible.

Here's the catch, you have to state why. I'd love to also write "BOOZE AND BOOK" as well but there would be nothing dryer than a large inventory of consumer goods.

I am going to be honest, I got a gob of cash but I am happiest with a down-filled blanket and Canada Goose jacket. Both items are incredibly useful and appreciated. A close second is a duffle bag with blanket (water resistant with wind resistance, microfibre composition yet +2 to orc slaying). The only thing I didn't get was a hermes scarf wrap (money can be exchanged for goods and service, thanks Adam Smith you smug bastard). Up here in the artic conditions of the mountains it's cold for 7 months, warm is good.

SLK is now no longer desired due to duffle and additional accesories. [:0]

Freude am fahren!

RE: Best gifts

Rather than spend time jabbering about positive crap (child's gay laughter included) I wish to focus on the bullshit gifts.
I'm one of those gigantic diver watch kind of guys. In fact, you usually see my watch 30 seconds before me when I walk into the room. I wear a Seiko the size of a wagon wheel on a daily basis (takes a beating as opposed to a licking) a Tag on occasion or Movado when I'm feeling all fancy and shit.
They are all very subtle as far as color goes as I am long past the days of GQ (HEY!!! LOOK AT ME!!!) fashion.
So why did my sister in law give me this bright gold bling bling gumball machine watch? The weirdest thing I ever got. Didn't know if I was supposed to laugh of feign gratitude.
It's like giving Imelda Marcos a pair of Payless plastic ballerina slippers.

RE: Best gifts

I got a Haynes Land Rover restoration manual off my parents. Although considering the state of my IIa I think they were being a little optimistic. [:D]

RE: Best gifts

A whole bunch of University of Oregon gear. Fleece, tear away pants, slippers. A Duck Christmas. Now, we just gotta throw a beat down to Oklahoma on Thursday. [}:)] (is it bad that I used the devil icon on Christmas?)

RE: Best gifts

Ton of Syracuse University sweatshirts and things, new hood for the 190E and payment back for the new subs/amp/box i bought. I installed them today..whoa, almost too much bass..almost...

If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

RE: Best gifts ... A Peugeot!

I received a Peugeot for Christmas
Black with black interior, accented by 304 stainless steel #4 finish.
A 'CVT' with 6 preset 'gear' positions.

who knew Peugeot made pepper grinders along with autos and bicycles[:o]
A timely and useful gift that replaces mortar and pestle that has been in use since the last pepper grinder disintegrated last spring.

Initial JD Power quality rating is a definite 5/5
look forward to equally glowing midterm reliability ratings and long-term dependability ratings.

RE: Best gifts

You sure that's a peppermill? Nudge nudge, say no more, say no more.

RE: Best gifts

Have not read the entire instruction manual yet (most likely never will).

I won't be surprised if it did more than just to grind peppers.
