I don't understand your impatience.

Until Justice O'Conner is replaced, the court remains the same. In which ways has the SCOTUS changed and in which ways is it owned by the republicans?

I refer you to the answer just given.

Unless you are deliberately trolling here, you must maintain that Alito is not a right-winger.
And that will be very difficult.

Your choice.

Alito is not a supreme court justice.

Somehow I think the public will remain asleep.
I would argue that they just don't care. Not that they are asleep.

Alito has not been confirmed.

Also a number of judges have changed the way they vote between confirmation hearings and acheiving the bench. Who knows what will happen with whoever is confirmed to the bench be it Alito or another candidate.

Finally why do you feel that a conservative judge will not uphold the law?

One in the same. They are staying true to their learning from the ridiculous public school system.

Well over a 1/4 of US students are in some form of non-public education.

Did you ever think that maybe you just have a narrow, bigoted view of people and that you can't accept the fact that just because someone has a viewpoint that is not the same as yours does not mean they are morons?

Private Schools
Private schools were the original schools in the U.S. and currently account for about 24 percent of all elementary and secondary schools, 10 percent of all students and 12 percent of all full-time teachers. Seventy-seven percent of private schools have a religious affiliation, while the remaining 23 percent are nonsectarian.1 Choice is a defining characteristic of private schools as families may freely choose private education, and private schools generally choose which students to accept. Although nonpublic governance and enrollment choices are features that all private schools share, private schools vary widely.

Home Schooling
A growing number of U.S. students receive their education through home schooling. About 1.1 million students were home schooled in the U. S. in the spring of 2003, an increase from an estimated 850,000 in the spring of 1999. In addition, the estimated home schooling rate -- the percentage of the school-age population that was being home schooled -- increased from 1.7 percent in 1999 to 2.2 percent in 2003.2

Then explain why they all think and value the same things. 10% of students in private school? Ha. That is not very many despite your best efforts to make it look otherwise. I myself went to private and public school and honestly, from my viewpoint, there is not much difference.

My narrow minded view is so shallow I dare to ask kids and adults to think for themselves and not just what some small range of info. was regurgitated to them in public school or on TV. Having people think for themselves does not in my mind jepordize patriotic feelings.

Look at it again. It is 26.6% of the population in non-public education not 10%.

Funny you say that you want people to think for themselves but when they express views different their yours you accuse them of being stupid, asleep, and acting against their own self interest.

I too attended both public and private schools. Some of the stupidiest shit they said (at least that I remember off the top of my head):

1) An area of the rainforests equivalent to the size of Texas is destroyed every day.

2) The Chinese are good commies. The Soviet Union is Bad commies.

I am sure I will remember some more later.

RE: Chalk Up Evidence for Another Bush Lie

Your above post points out that 24% of schools are private, while only a total of 10% of the total number of students attend private school.

If you lump the homeschool kids (kids of crackpots IMO) into the private school kids the total is only 12%, not 26%.
