Democracy the US Way

Ok here is the deal: Do you think that if a vote takes place in the Middle East that the US must have a say in it and of course impose limits of its own choosing rather than the local populace?
Case in point is what's going on with the Paletsitian elections. The US house passed a resolution las t Firday that specifically will stop assistance to the Palestinians if Hamas wins the elections. So I am guessing if the people of Palestine choose Hamas then they must also accept that US assistance will be out and that will give them card blanche to move forward with their own agenda without being bribed by the US. I think it's a good thing that the US meddled again in international affairs under AIPAC's pressure...
Do you think the US has the RIGHT to choose canditates that suits here outside its borders? I mean it has done well with dictators, but no real track record with democratic countries that took their own initiative to be so...

At this point I think that the Palestinians should do whatever they want and feel is right for them to gain peace with Israel not to lick the US's boots... Maybe this is a wake up call, and they should actually refuse US help to send them a message what democracy is all about. Yes even if it means starving...

US can say whatever.. France and others didn't like shrub, and they said so.. (ok, maybe they didn't try to blackmail us but still)

the deal is that whomever palistinians choose should be whomever they desire without a thought or consideration of an outsiders' opinion.. US didn't care what anybody else thought, why should they?

if boot licking is what they desire then they should choose accordingly although both main choices in Palestine right now are non-US friendly.. so it really doesn't matter.. fatah is finished anyway and they weren't all lovy dovy with US..

i think it's a bit funny that the US government is "backing" the jailbird.. hahahaha

in political asylum

I look forward to Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Al Acsa Martyrs Brigade having a great time learning peaceful political rivalry. If the USA could just restrain itself from involvement I think these folks would probably have themselves a short-term, extremely violent interaction and then settle into a sort polity like Lebanon.

No doubt about that, and that the price of true freedom and democracy. It can't be bought with apppeasment from the US or anyone else...
Look at your country's evolution. You had to learn through civil war too. They are not going to be any different because humans don't value human life until they feel the loss and carnage. It has always been this way and I am sad to say it will always be that way as long as we insist that we are always right...
