RE: are convertibles fun?
I loved my convertible, but living in SoCal I very rarely had to put the hood up.I didn't use it so much when I moved to NY,but when I did it felt like a real treat.
So back here in London,I was checking out 129s when my old man gave me the 126 and it's so easy and cheap to own I can't yet bring myself to trade it,but when I do,it will almost certainly be for a 129.
So to answer your question, def get a convertible, but treat yourself, get a good 107 or 129.Don't forget, they are purpose built convertibles and feel very solid and secure.Virtually all other modified chassis have a disconcerting degree of flex, which only gets worse as the vehicle ages.Additionally, you get the hard top as well with MB.
