RE: Terrorist attack?

i always make a chocolate cake with white frosting, a bloodshot eyebal cake to celebrate what we've always called hippy new year=)

you can only eat it after 5, cuz the 4:20 on 4/20 festivities last MUCH longer than everyday 4:20 festivities[:D]

it really is the cutest cake ever, except the remote control cake i made my father for fathers day. black icing just doeant taste good, though.

i love making cakes!

RE: Terrorist attack?

the secret is taking them out of the oven BEFORE theyre brown around the edges.

then theyre moist and delicious, otherwise theyre dry and need lots of icing.

a crumb-coat is the second secret. you trap all the crumbs in the first thin layer of icing so they dont ruin the final layer of icing.

i made a white wedding cake, buttercream icing, filled with strawberry preserves. ohhhh it was good.

so good... it had pillars too, i was terribly proud=) ive made 3 of the same cake since, word of mouth advertising is a good thing[:D]

too bad every time i made one, they guilted me into giving it to them as a wedding gift. these things cost about 50 bux to make!

RE: Terrorist attack?

the top cake isnt hard, you just pour the icing on when the cake is warm, itll soak into the cake. you can poke holes in the cake to make it suck up lots more as well.

the disney cake i shant comment on. death to all things disney.

the last cake is made with fondant(sp) and isnt frosted. if you know anything about cakemaking, youll know how easy it is to make a perfect cake with 'icing' the consistency of play dough. you only have to roll it out and drape it over the cake. it also tastes like shit.
