Why doesn't Karl Benz ever get credit?

I mean, he invented the car (I think). All the schools are giving Ford credit for the assembly line, but we wouldn't have the assembly had Benz not invented the car. I don't get this. I say we should get the schools to start teaching abouit Karl Benz too.

RE: Why doesn't Karl Benz ever get credit?

It is amusing how many people believe Ford actually invented the automobile. Ford was a determined man with a single-minded vision of a car for the masses. He actually made his employees into his customers by getting the price down to a level they couold afford.

Heeren Daimler and Benz do get credit for the patent motor car. There is a replica of this patent motor car on display at the Owl's Head Museum located in Maine. Fascinating to study. Does anyone have a diagram of the power transmission of this vehicle. I see a large ( 3' +/-) diameter gear lying horizontally just ahead and below the rear axle. Yet, I could not see how it did anything. The drive gear must be forward, under the seat and hidden from view.

The first automobile to be mass produced in the United States was the 1901, Curved Dash Oldsmobile, built by the American car manufacturer Ransome Eli Olds (1864-1950). Olds invented the basic concept of the assembly line and started the Detroit area automobile industry.Henry Ford (1863-1947) invented an improved assembly line and installed the first conveyor belt-based assembly line in his car factory in Ford's Highland Park, Michigan plant, around 1913-14.

Karl Benz is my Great Great Great Grandfather.

You are correct he is the inventor of car the gasoline vehicle.

Anyone that does some research can
find the truth that Henry Ford did
not invent the gasoline car, ONLY
the the mass production of making
cars available to the average
working day person.

KB was the invetor of the benzene tricycle! Tricycle that your great great great grandmother took to go to Pfortzheim with your great great grandparent, stopping to buy the benzene at local pharmacies on the way, and pushing the tricycle on the up inclines. She deserves as much credit, without her, the tricycle was going to rot, untested, and Benz would not be recognized at all today. Consequently, people would give a crap about your biography!

G. Daimler, now there's an engine builder!

Now now, we all gave you props for great grandpa TCP's nuke-ee-ler driven dradle and the work that went into developing it.
exerpt from The Doomsday Dradle: subtittled-Coal Shmoal, this aint' childs play bubby.

Each draedle releases two neutrons, then the number of fissions doubles each generation. In that case, in 10 generations there are 1,024 fissions and in 80 generations about 6 x 10 23 (a mole) fissions.

Now you wanna see my mole?
