this first mass produced car was not produced in 1909.
If cars were invented in 1889 and 1891.

There is a difference in the english words 'Invented', 'Produced', 'Mass produced' and 'Assembly Line' .
It would behoove you to understand the distinctions in the language and history before you start talking "matter-of-factly" !!

Or, is your first language not English !

AMERICANS WHAT ???

I find it even more interesting to connect the dots that connect some of the people involved in the beginning of the automobile industry. Gottlieb Daimler and his lifelong engineering partner Wilhelm Maybach. Their work for Deutz and with Nicholas Otto, the inventor of the four stroke engine. Daimlers role in Daimler Coventry and Austro Daimler (run by Ferdinand Porsche), and Panhard who owned the right for the Daimler name in France. Daimlers aquaintance with Armand Peugeot and Louis Renault. Daimlers in France based sales wiz and investor Emil Jellinek who suggested to name the cars after his daughter Mercedes, and the later merger with the Karl Benz Co.. The three pointed star symbolizes land, air and water, and stems from the time of the Daimler/Maybach motor works. Teutone (aka Horst K) P.S. Wilhelm Maybach designed and build the engines for Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin.
