I don’t know why, but for some reasons bimmer 3 series are really popular among young crowds (I mean 20 something). I have few friends who bought bimmers right after college. FYI, I got out college May ’05. Most of them traded in their Civics or Accords that they used to drive to the class.

IMO, the bottom line is that Bimmer is better than Jetta or Passat if you want to experience German ride.[:)]
The Jetta is an excellent way to experience a Mexican ride. I am not sure if the Passat is made in Germany still.

If I have correct information, Passat is still produced in Germany.
Here’s how I distinguish where the vehicle from, if VIN# starts with;

1,5: U.S.A
2,4: mostly Canada or U.S.
3: Mexico
9: Brazil
W: Germany
J: Japan
K: Korea
S: Britain
Z: Italy
Y: Sweden

Feel free to correct me, if any of you have right info.
Passat 2.0T is 3305 pounds, with 200 hp and 207tq. It's a nice car if people don't mind waiting for you.

RE: Too many BMW's !

The last great BMW's were the E30,E28 and E24.I still have my 85 635CSi but it is extremely tempermental. BMW fell off in my opinion with the introduction of the E36 which looked nice but really didn't have the presence factor.

yoseyman,

Oh, my I guess you like to have your vehicle clean

all the time ??

Well that is your personal taste, for me

I like to take my G-Cabrio off-roading so

dirt on my rims or on the vehicle dont bother me.

That is why I bought a 4x4 off-road vehicle.

THIS IS NOT A SOCCER MOM's vehicle !

But if it bothers you that much yoseyman,

you can clean them for me. [:I]

Easy... It's just that you have a nice ride and I thought I'd give you some grief.

Where I live in Santa Monica California, every third car
you see on the road is a three series (entry level) BMW with some little prick talking on a cell phone driving it. .
Go to Newport Beach and you get annoyed with all those Rolls-Royce and Ferrari.

When we were at lunch the other day we saw seven parked in a row at our eating place. Way overdone! They're so commonplace! Sheep following other sheep. They might have been a status symbol at one time, but not now.
