Iran only months away from building a Bomb

IAEA chairman Muhammad ElBaradei on Monday confirmed Israel's assessment that Iran is only a few months away from creating an atomic bomb.

If Teheran indeed resumed its uranium enrichment in other plants, as threatened, it will take it only "a few months" to produce a nuclear bomb, El-Baradei told The Independent.

On the other hand, he warned, any attempt to resolve the crisis by non-diplomatic means would "open a Pandora's box. There would be efforts to isolate Iran; Iran would retaliate; and at the end of the day you have to go back to the negotiating table to find the solution."

If accurate this is what should concern everyone. Forget N. Korea. Whether they have the bomb or not they are much less a concern than Iran with Nukes.

El Baradei confirms unnamed intelligence sources inside and outside of Iran.

Where have I heard this one before?

RE: Iran only months away from building a Bomb

Everyone loves El Baradei until he comes out with something they don't like. He has been sited as an unimpeachable source for Iran's Nuclear program in the past stating that there was no proof they were trying to build a bomb. He also stated there was no proof Iraq was anywhere near building a bomb and everyone hailed him and said he was good. Now he says Teharn is close to a bomb and people call BS. So which is it? Is he a voice of reason or an alarmist?

All that silica we could transform into amorphous solid state.
Pros:
1) Cheaper than an invasion
2) Comply with nuclear arsenal reduction goals
3) No reconstruction needed, or even possible
4) It would look pretty from the ISS

Not sure that's quite accurate. I am not questioning that Iran may be close to a bomb. All I am saying is it would be typical for us to over-react in fear and respond inappropriately. It's apparently US policy to reward nations with the bomb and to punish those without, so how can anyone blame Iran for desiring one? Especially when Israel already has nuclear weapons?
