I have driven all over the world and nothing is as bad as I-35 between Dallas and San Antonio. Really. Two types on that road. Self righteous, sloth, nonthinking, bible belt fascists who hog the left lane going the speed limit. The only other type is the extreme crystal meth slurping college students practicing road rage 24/7. All of this while the road is constantly under construction and the 18 wheelers think they own the road and have no training. Po dunk state patrol pigs are there not for safety but just for revenue. A picture perfect slice of america.
That was great, thanks for the laugh!

Yeah, I second that. The road has two huge mega-highways, 35-W coming down from Ft. Worth and the other, 35-E coming down from Dallas, choked into two lanes just outside of Waco. What a freaking circus. If any little bit of road opens up, local bozos in pickups slam on the gas, just so they can then slam on the brakes when the traffic brickwalls again. Meanwhile, about 10 million people are trying to just get from DFW to Austin/San Antone. Throw in a couple hundred thousand semis coming up or down from Mexico, and you got madness.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
