Are you saying that bugs lives have the same value as human lives?
I'm sure they have more value from their perspective.
Roaches are clearly superior to humans in the eyes of God. He gave them protection in case of a nuclear blast to make sure they live after we're gone!

What if the presence of life is established?
In your eyes, can a woman have an abortion on Mars, where no presence of life has ever been established, and where life simply can not be naturally self-supporting, self-perpetuating?
If they have been declared alive and they are there, then there is life on mars.

Which brings us to this. Assuming life has been established, which the Doc. admits, when does one life morally eclipse another's?

My life eclipses that of a cow when I'm hungry. Predator/prey -- survival of the fittest. Life requires death. I can at the same time have a deep respect for all life and be aware that death occurs on an enormous scale each and every day. Why does one aborted fetus have more value to you than the billions upon billions of other organisms that are likely to expire on that very day?

For the record, my own sense of life requires at least a modicum of self-sufficiency.

RE: "I destroy life"

I have an elder- now senile - 'Downs Syndrome' sister.
Many years ago, she told my Mother that her 'boyfriend' (also Downs) had 'put his thing' into her.
For my Mother (in particular) and my brothers and second sister, the weeks that followed were a nightmare.
False alarm - thank God!.
I have no issues with contraception, nor humanely medicated death (having seen my best friend Morphine pain released from Cancer).
Somewhere in between both life ends, are apparent boundary lines that we each (as individuals) have a conscience awareness of.
An Australian will die in Singapore tomorrow morning - by hanging - for his crime of drug trafficking (400grams of heroin)
His mother is pleading for the chance of a final hug................

Declared alive by whom? If I declare something alive does it make it so? What if 100 scientists declare something alive does that make it a fact? What if a thousand scientists and Dr's declare something alinve but ten thousand disagree is it alive or not?

That's the kicker, isn't it? Do you trust the government to decide that, or the mother of the "baby"?

I'm erring on the side of the person who will have to live with the decision, not the gov't that won't. (ignoring welfare, SS, prison, etc)

2002 Ccoupe, not as good as others, apparently

Banter between TCP and myself is not to be taken seriously as there exists a reciprocal lunacy element between us.
