You're just a liar. There is no report saying Bush manipulated intelligence. In fact everything from the 9/11 commission to Duelfer says just the opposite.
Frankly you have the burden of proof when you start throwing that tiresome "Bush lied" meme around.
As far as the closed door garabage in the Senate is concerned that wasn't really about an intelligence assessement. It was a hissy fit by the Democrats because there wasn't a Rove indictment.
BTW, what "kids" are dying?
I suppose you were inside the closed door session of of the Senate, and therefore your declaration that it was a hissy fit about Rove escaping the independent counsel's investigation, which the Senate has no jurisdiction over, is presumably not a lie? I mean, if you weren't there and you made that shit up, then you are a liar, right?
Others have quoted from speeches Mr. Bush made, and his crew of chanting priests of the neocon sect, that were clearly untrue. They have also cited reports provided to the Bush inner circle making it clear the aluminum tubes were not suitable for centrifuges needed to process uranium to weapon's grade nuclear material, there was no yellow cake purchase attempted in Niger, there was no evidence of WMD, and so on. By failing to report both sides of the body of evidence to Congress, Bush and his team lied. By failing to explain to Congress what the imminent danger was from Iraq in March 2003 that required the invasion of Iraq to start, Bush deceived Congress. All that was on purpose.
I have kids, mostly grown up now, and the idea that it is ok to lie, cheat or steal because Johnny down the street does it, never cut the mustard here. The same logic applied to doing anything stupid - the decision was theirs and theirs alone, regardless of what the other kids in town were doing. Suggesting they were somehow less guilty of needing a lesson in learning better judgement because a lot of others made a bad decision was just not tolerated.
The idea that now Bush quotes people, whose actual opinion he could care less about, saying they agreed there were WMD, is a transparent attempt to sidestep his responsiblility. That is dishonest and misleading the American people as well. Another lie making up the fabric of his administration record of misconstruing data, misleading America and making poor decisions and then engaging in publicity campaigns to sell a denial of his failed policy. Bush lies and you don't see it. Based on your tale of the closed door Senate session, I might surmise your ocular affliction could be because, after one crosses the line enough, it becomes easier to do and then, all of the sudden, favorable circumstances can make it seem as natural as breathing.
Give it time. Bush will be exposed. Too many whoppers to keep the lid on much longer. Jim
PS: Watch Fahrenheit 9-1-1 if you want to know about the "kids" dying. Or, just watch some of the news shows that give the names and ages of the dead soldiers. When you have kids in their early twenties in college, 19-22 year old young men dying in Iraq are "kids" to you. Have a family and raise your kids for twenty years and then talk. Until you do it, you are forming an opinion that you have no real qualifications to validate. Like Catholic Priests telling you how to keep your marriage together. No valid experience.
PPS: I never said there was a report concluding Bush manipulated the intelligence leading up to his directing American armed forces to invade Iraq. You are convincing me you can only read a one liners. It is like you are so addicted to the Karl Rove sloganeering that more than one sentence on a subject exceeds your attention span. YOU said there were reports concluding that Bush did not manipulate intelligence data to justify his case to invade Iraq. I said that was not true because NO SUCH REPORT exists because NO SUCH STUDY has been completed. Imagine that, not issuing a report because you have not done the work! A small sign of integrity in our Government.
