RE: whats it all about?

I heard that the composer of the 'Hokey Pokey' died recently. All went well until the funeral directors tried to install him in his coffin (casket). They got his left leg in but his right leg caused a problem.

Incidently,I think certainly in Britain, the 'Hokey Cokey' is what it's all about. It was regularly performed in the early 1940s about a decade before 'Hokey Pokey' was popularised in the USA.So there.[8)]

nah,
I just thought of them spontanously, must have been a combination of words and pronouncing sounds.

songs of B&D are:
That's what it's all about
and
you can't take the honky tonk out of the girl

I find the Hokey Pokey to be a morally offensive song. The second from last stanza, "you do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around", is an obvious nod to male homosexuality in which the "Hokey Pokey" refers the act of anal intercourse and to "turn yourself around", denotes becoming the submissive partner in this repulsive act. A friend in Jesus is all you need, brother.

If you meant the honky tank, even though kvining would like you to believe it in pictures he has posted elsewhere, it was not friendly fire than reduced that teenager to a corpse.

Thats what its all about!

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

In the meantime, while awaiting death, male teenagers in the north east are encouraged to befriend their catholic priest.

RE: whats it all about?

i might be southern, but i do have a modicum of taste.

i am also educated; i live in a comfortable, stick-built home(with a basement) and none of my cars are on blocks in the front yard.

i have a siamese cat, not a 3-legged dog. i do not eat dirt and i have never left the house in a sweat stained tank top.

this is 2005, country music has lost its roots and genuiness somewhere around the time that mr. garth brooks decided he was more popular with hillfolk than god himself.

country music is pandering, plain and simple. it promises its listeners mental images of a different south than is extant any longer. it is bad pop music, written by the same dozen writers, arranged to bad synths and is only thinly southern.

real country music might be akin to my grandmothers fried chicken; juicy, robust and flavorful wheras modern country music is more like KFC: synthetically fattened, tasteless and soggy.
