RE: why do people live in trailers?

Some of you have real problems with predudice. Nothing like looking down your noses at other people.
No, I do not live in a trailer; never did. But I did look at the possibility, once.
"Trailer" is really a misnomer. Unless the wheel are premanently attached, they are more correctly called, " manufactured housing" Some of you may live in houses that were built in the same factories, only yours are called modular houses, or even panelized houses.
A cinder block house may be OK for some, but if thw temperature drops to below zero, they would be difficult to heat. Also, rain can penetrate a cinder block,( or concrete block) wall.
I have seem modular houses built of multiple units that arrive onsite on several flatbeads. When set on their foundation any of you would ber hard pressed to tell they weren't stick built.

Because it makes my Benz look all the more impressive in comparison.

My last place was a cinder block cottage on the beach.
I hated it. The realtor was always bringing people around.

My boss bought a trailer and rented it to me.
No one has bothered me in 9 years.

Or just answer the door buck naked, like nothing is odd.

RE: why do people live in trailers?

i dont see how knowing what products are better and what products are superior makes me prejudiced.

i make fun of the retards that play sony psp. why? because i am a nintendo guy. i make fun of people that bought pepto colored geos in the early 90s. its not not because they are poor or because i [think] i am better...

because they spend their money unwisely.

its not a crime to know when someone wastes money that could be spent to help keep them safe in a tornado. it is not a crime to criticize wal mart for helping. its not a crime to observe society and think critically about it. if we all walked around like fucking zombies and never questioned anything, nothing would change.

*makes a zombie noise*

"hi. i'm msfowler, i cant question anything because i cant do every job of every person in every corporation. i will continue being a hard ass bastard that busts everyones chops if they complain the slightest about a giant, multinational corporation that is the second largest employer in the united states-- but is also the one that pays the least and schedules a 35 hour work week to skirt paying any one employee more than 7.50 an hour."

ever been to a rural alabama wal mart store? the people that are "poor" and live in "modular" housing surely seem to have the fullest carts.

this is a question od safety standards. these houses are obviously not safe in all conditons and were they automobiles, they would have been blacklisted alongside the pinto, the exploding side impact silverados and flipping bronco IIs.

and i dont think i ever mentioned money as an issue. i do not have enough to buy even the rustiest of trai err... "modulat" homes. i am not passing judgement. i am asking why people make the choice to live in metal boxes. no more, no less really.

why do i feel like i have to defend myself for being curious? is it wrong to ask questions?

Ok, Ok. I apologize for the "beat" part of my previous post. It was a little catty, and unwarranted.
As pennance I am going to be nice to Misterdonut for 48 hours.
If I just can't be nice, I'll be quiet instead.

It's the least I can do.
I started being nice at 1PM, just so we're clear about this.
