RE: free quran/koran
Part of the answer is better no answer at all and is much better than a completely wrong answer.
Picture this.. I'm a novice. I want to buy a Mercedes. I have 2 strateges:
1) Go to a dealer. Test drive one. Read reviews. Ask owners.
2) Ask someone famous for hating the brand. Answer: It's the car that killed Lady Diana!
busters the boy!,
I believe there are a lot of people in the west who don't mind surrendering to God had they known it will do them good not harm to do so. Examples?
* Distinguished marine ecologist Frenchman Jacques-Yves Cousteau,
* First man to walk on the moon American Neil Armstrong,
* Famous radical writer Frenchman Roger Garoudy,
* Yusuf Islam aka Cat Stevens the pop/folk star,
* Boxing legend American Mohammed Ali,
And of course hundreds of thousands of others.
I don't think any of them hate to govern themselves, have freedom of speech, nor use their own minds.
There are others who didn't convert to Islam but have great respect for the religion and said fair things about it. Examples? German writer
Siegrid Hunke in a book called ALLAHS SONNE UEBER DEM ABENDLAND. I searched the net for excerpts in English but couldn't find any. This does and doesn't surprise me at the same time. She's a famous writer (surprise) but nobody quotes her (surprise not). I really hate it when someone says the right thing and their voice is not heard because of hatred or racism, while others tasteless writings is celebrated just because it's full of the type of hatred that media tycoons (and many others) prefer.
However, I've found this:
* George Bernard Shaw in 'The Genuine Islam' Vol.1, No. 8, 1936
"I have always held the religion of Muhammed in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have sudied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Savior of Humanity"
"I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world he would succed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammed that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today "
* Goethe, the greatest of German poets, speaking about the Holy Quran (the book you think was 'written' in the 6th century but we believe is a Word of God) declared that,
"This book will go on exercising through all ages a most potent influence."
One last thing I'd like to say. We Muslims don't have any sort of respect for people who say bad things about Jesus, Moses or any other Messenger of
God because we have full respect for all Messengers. I hope non-Muslims show the very same respect to our Messenger Muhammed, especially if they have no idea what's his Message all about (except maybe a mutilated idea from TV).
Thank you for taking the time to read.
