From the telematics forum...

I had purposely deviated from the COMMAND suggested route, but I imagine under different circumstances wouldn’t be funny to get from your navigation system:

"Make a U-turn, if possible…"

What the hell are you supposed to do if not possible???
* * *

The first time I moved to The Golden State, I picked up the drivers' manual to read in anticipation of getting a new license. As I recall it was in a landscape format, about 4x6 and more than 100 pages. Someplace around page 40 they offered a quick checklist in summarizing the "turns" section.

As I continued to read, I shook my head in disbelief and decided that if they were going to pander to the lowest common denominator, then I didn't need to read any further and I tossed the manual in the trash.

The passage that led me to that conclusion?

Unbelievably, they felt it necessary to include the admonishment, "You may not make a U-Turn on a one-way street."

Ya know, if you're so amazingly stupid that you have to be told that, perhaps you shouldn't be driving at all.

Yeah, I heard the OnStar tells you to do a U-turn whenever possible.
This one guy was driving his Lincoln Navigator, and he was using the nav system. it told him to go straight, and he does, but up ahead there is a turn and a small cliff. He continues driving straight, and drives his Navigator off the cliff. He later blames it on the navigation system.
