There was a local story here just yesterday stating that 5 sex offenders were among the Katrina refugees who were relocated to Arizona.

Yes, quite an upgrade from the beasts of Chi-town, eh? I recall a friend from Houston stopping by for a visit a few years back. The first words out of his mouth: "you live in a f***ing zoo!". Apparently, he had stopped at a Chicago grocery store on the way, and was quite amazed by the appearance of the cashiers.

Well OK -- I guess a zoo is better than a farm -- more choices! [:D]

RE: so what have lousinia people brought

The vast majority of people I met from LA while working the Katrina disaster for the Red Cross were just simple, poor, lower class working people. 400,000 of them came to Texas. If 400,000 Texans went to LA, I am sure that a percentage of them would be rapists and other assorted bad guys.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

This may have been a Bush plot to send us all the rapists, sort of like Castro's release of prisoners to the US. He just didn't get the part where you send them OUT of the country.
