5 counts, two counts of perjury. Looks like they loaded up on him to see if they can get him to roll on Cheney and Rove.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

Wonder what it takes to buy off a man like Libby? Is there ever enough with these charges? I am shedding crocodile tears.

I think that's why they loaded up on him. I'm sure Rove dangled lots of nice payoffs to him if he was faced with a "Martha Stewart" charge - a few months in Club Fed, followed by a fat corporate job with some Saudi oil company, the people Bush and his men actually work for. In fact, a "Martha Stewart Charge" was the big rumor on the AM goosestepper channels all day today, believed so heartily by the rightwingers that Limbaugh was braying on his radio show today about how this was a waste of time - "two years for a misdemeanor! A travesty!" he shouted. Well, looks like he got some bad dope (pun intended) on the story. Instead of Club Fed, Scooters looking at 30 years of a bum-jammin' good time. Given the secretiveness of the Bush crime syndicate, its a smart move - its the only way to break the case on the other guys - get Libby to roll. Now watch the fascist media machine go after Fitzgerald - gonna be a hard target, given that he is a Republican.

Actually Fitzgerald seems to be quite vicous. And I am enjoying every bit of it. He is going let Rove twist in the wind, and Bush along with him, just because he can. Good hunting skills. Jim
