I was wondering as to the time of day the pics were taken?
Is it common to have them up by your dwelling?
I have never seen them by my house before. I had only seen one before while hiking in the desert about a couple miles from my house. I have seen a couple of Bull Snakes near my house before. I took the pics at about 8:00 AM this morning, right before I posted.
I love Rattlers-next to Cobras i think they are the coolest snakes.I disturbed a biggy in the Mojave one time and i have to admit,i was none too brave,i got well away fast and no mistake.Steve Irwin I ain't!
We don't have many snakes back here in the UK.In fact I think we only have Smooth,Grass (non-poisonous) and Adders (slightly poisonous).We also have a thing called a SlowWorm which is in fact a legless lizard.

why sir, but you have one of the most famous Adders in the world.
my little one stepped on a garter snake on a balmy early spring day in our backyard. Only about a foot long, it looked drousy and disoriented after a premature awakening from hibernation.
