Kinda looks like Joe Pepitone(1st base?) now that you mention it. Might be Geraldo shoving that guy in the Bulls jacket aside to help the lady.

RE: Anybody have mushroom problems with their yard?

Poisonous varieties of fungi can vary greatly in appearance,
from region to region.

I remember one story of a family who visited friends in another state.
The visiting family were great mushroom enthusiasts
and insisted on gathering some wild mushrooms for the dinner.

The host family declined, not wishing to take the risk.
The visitors were very insistent, proclaiming their expertise
over many years of gathering and enjoying mushrooms.

The host family finally gave in and everyone died,
with the exception of one kid who didn't like mushrooms.

Seems they were only experts on their home region.

RE: Anybody have mushroom problems with their yard?

There's a group of mushrooms, the Aminitas, that have some interesting properties. Some are hallucinogenic. Most are mildly toxic. Most are deadly. In North America some of them look an awful lot like edible cousins in Korea and eastern China. These mushrooms are a not infrquent cause of poisoning of immigrant Koreans.

There are several that have two different classes of toxins, the first makes you sick and you appear to recover and then the second one kills you. The second one interferes with the membrane structure of mitochondria.
