If it is a fungus growing on cow shit, that when the stem is split, immediately turns purple, and has an annulus scar on the stipe, send it to me for proper disposal.

There seems to be a common theme here

Copius consumption of Magic mushrooms turn me into a real Fun-gi.

I would keep my dried fruiting bodies in my stash box but i'm afraid there's not Mush-room in there.

That's me done then[:o)]Hypha nice day y'all!

RE: Anybody have mushroom problems with their yard?

I never tried mushrooms but they certainly were around in my high school days.

I remember a friend tried them, and he disappeared for an hour or two. I went upstairs for a beverage and noticed all the plants in the house were missing. I go around the house to look for my friend and he is sitting in the bathroom full of house plants rocking back and forth in the bathtub saying "A B C one two three, A B C one two three". Looks like a really great time, but I'll pass.

Mushrooms are the reproductive portion of the fungus. Fungi are either sparophytic or parasitic. They either consume dead things or consume live things. I'm betting yours are saprophytes. I'm betting you have a 'faerie ring' in your yard--a circle of mushrooms. The fungus grows outward as it depletes teh food source so each year the ring gets a teenie-weenie bit larger. Each year, after several days of rain and moderate temperatures the little fungi fruiting bodies emerge.

You can kill them with a thorough soaking of fungicide. It will take several years for the food source to be re-infected at which time you apply more fungicide. Repeat for eternity.

You can deprive them of their food source. You do this by increasing the rate of decomposition of the food source, if the plants are saprophytes. usually fungi are phosphate-limited so a small amount of phosphate on the lawn will encourage their growth, increasing the rate at which they consume the food source. You will get even MORE fruiting bodies, but the food source will eventually disappear and so will the fingi.

If it is a fungus growing on cow shit, that when the stem is split, immediately turns purple, and has an annulus scar on the stipe, send it to me for proper disposal.
