transmission question

i brought my 02 c230 to a dealer becouse i thought there was a clutch/trany problem. the dealer said that the clutch seemed to be bad so he proceded to order me a new clutch installed it then told me the trans is still making a funny noise so he said he was going to put a new one in free of charge, mind you i have a warrenty on the vehicle he proceeds to say i still have to pay for the clutch . so my question is if anyone could answer, does a refabricated mercedes trans come with a new clutch and is this just his way of trying to make me pay for a clutch to cover his wasted labor and bad technical observation? RE: transmission question

You may want to re-post this in the W202 C Class section.

RE: transmission question

Basically, clutches are seldom covered by warranty as they are a wear item. And transmissions do not come with clutches, they are separate, in fact they are attached to the engine's flywheel.

RE: transmission question

True, clutch is separate form transmission and is mostly sold separately you can call your local merc dealership and ask them if transmissions are sold with the clutch &converter.
