RE: Are we a spoiled society?
I lived in Guerrero, Mexico for almost two years. As you may know it is one of the poorest of the Mexican states. Some of the habitants are so poor they do not have the slightest chance at material advancement. It is quite close to third world poverty levels. Time and again I would give them money for anything they might be able to do for me. No handouts, none needed since they really just wanted a chance to earn the money, just a little something for a little job no matter how small. When you see the toddlers in the village run around the dirt roads, polluted creeks, and filthy, ramshackle huts, with no clothes on, it will bring a tear to your eye. No easy task to try and bring these people up from their native indian backgrounds. They just need a chance, where there is no chance legally.
