Louisiana needs to learn from NC

I wonder if NO made preparations before the hurricane hit? NC is making preparations even though the hurricane is 200 miles of the shore.

Warning of the possibility of coastal flooding, Gov. Mike Easley sent 200 National Guard soldiers to staging centers in eastern North Carolina and ordered a mandatory evacuation of tourists visiting fragile Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks, reachable only by ferry. Residents of the island were allowed to stay.

I'd say that North Carolina learned from Louisiana's mistakes. Even though this hurricane doesn't look anywhere near as strong as Katrina. I'd be willing to bet that for the next year or so, everytime a hurricane gets close to hitting the US, people will make a big deal over it (mainly the media will get everyone into a frenzy). Then, the fear will subside over time.

No leader is going to take half measures with hurricane prep after Katrina.

Learn from NC? [xx(]

Yeah, I'm sure that has nothing to do with Katrina. [:D]
