Who cares about the stupid looting? Lets just save those who are still alive.

I think Bush should be forced down to the flooded area and help rescue a few of the poverty stricken blacks that he ignores.

I've sent out an urgent plea to all the unfortunate victims to please send me the boxtops from their looted electronic equipment so I can claim them on my Best Buy Reward Zone card. God be with them as this could net me the Pioneer Navigation system I so desire.

You guys read that story, and your first concern is about the looting of televisions?

Sad.
You tell, webwench. I am amazed at all this obsession with looting. We gives a shit, give them the place. I have seen more death and misery in the last two days than I have seen in my entire life. There are millions of people homeless. They have no water. They have no food. They have no money, and even if they did, their bank is under water. Interstate 10 from Baton Rouge to Houston is littered with hundreds of thousands of cars because every gas station, every store, is out of everything. Their are thousands of people simply trying to get some place where they can stay alive. This shit where people pound their chest and talk about shooting this person or that, for god sakes, grow up you stupid asses, these people have been reduced to the status of wild animals. They need help. They need help desperately. We have buses arriving here with dead people on them. Dead babies. Dead grandmas. WGAS about property! Who gives a fuck who is ripping off a TV set! This is a disaster beyond anything you can ever imagine. Do something to help!

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

So...what do yanks do when there's a volcano, nuke each other?

Call him a murderer, a rapist, the pillager of the dead, but never, ever call a yank helpless.

I totally agree. Forget about the looting and send some money to the Red Cross. The company I work for is donating tube feedings, insulin, etc. to hundreds of people who have been brought to Alabama for treatment in our hospitals and charity houses. I've delivered some of these items to the local Children's Hospital in the past 2 days and the things I've seen have been horrible. There is a baby girl here that was picked up by strangers somewhere in New Orleans who suffered massive head trauma. She can't be more than 2 or 3 months old and no one knows who she is or who her parents are (were?). A quarter of her skull was removed to relieve the pressure caused by the swelling of her brain. She is on a ventilator. With that in mind, I can't belive that anyone is worried about somebody taking a television.

Who cares who's stealing televisions?? Obviously you have mistaken me for someone who gives a shit about looting T V's! The point I'm trying to make is: What good are these kinds of possessions in a time like this?! Why is it that all a common thug can think about is himself and his ability to get something for nothing. The idiot who took the TV just shows us all where his heart is! Instead of using the raft to help someone, he instead, expends all his energy stealing a worthless item in the hopes it will bring him monetary gain or pleasure in the future. As for me, I'd be forgetting about that damn television and look for ways to help others and to help secure food and water. These kinds of disasters tend to bring together communities while at the same time, bringing the sewer sludge out of hiding to take advantage of a bad situation. These kinds of people are unproductive scourges on society. Me hopes that someone beat the living shit out of him, dumped his precious TV in the water and took the raft to help an elderly couple out of their flooded home!

I'm going now, to the kitchen to gather some items to take to the tractor trailer parked on the nearby highway for hurricane disaster relief. I encourage each of you, who have not already done so, to do it now!![:)]

I think that anyone disrupting the rescue efforts and using this tragedy to cause mayham are a subspecies and should be shot. They are a waste of oxygen and they were a waste of taxpayer money before this tragedy.
The people taking food and things needed to survive are doing the same thing I would do under those circumstances. They need help not scorn.
and another thrillbilly... wahoo! wtf? [xx(]

Thrillbilly you call me. I didnt say anything abought shooting looters I was talking about people taking shots at rescuers so don't jump to conclusions. There is no way to know how many people died because rescuers couldn't get through. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/hi/news/5043009.html
I am not a right winger or a left winger I'm a I don't give a damn abought politics winger right now.
The job of helping in this situation falls on everyones shoulders right now. Whining and crying about politics isn't gonna help. There will be time to point fingers and blame at a later date.

Millions are doing exactly that. There are thousands of tonnes of relief supplies piling up in warehouses, but aid workers cannot deliver this aid. They fear for their lives. That's why law enforcement is focusing on restoring order, so that aid can be delivered.

In this case, the armed gangs of looters, rapists, and other social scum are preventing your aid donation from being distributed. They are "the enemy" as far as the children, the elderly, and the dying are concerned.
