Where are Pat Paulson and Lyndon Larouche when you need 'em?

What do you think? I know she is not, but can John Doe be convinced?
Radical? hardly. She's very much a centrist with a mildly leftish bent for social programs. Sure not as far left as FDR was, and even modern-day rightwingers have a soft spot for FDR.

Her biggest problem is that she's been effectively (mis)characterized by the Repo political machine and she has all of that baggage that she would have to shed. Bill could do it because, well, he's Bill. I don't think she has that magnetism of personality, the gift that Clinton exudes so naturally. Her job will be an awful lot harder for that lack.

I think the Demos would be better served by a centrist male from the midwest or south who could convince Hilary to run as VP. It would be a combo that would energize the Demo base (for Hilary) and give the folks who can't stand Hilary a man to vote for.

RE: Is Hilary too radical to win?

You'll have to remember she is a product of Chicago politics. With the exception of a few ill fated years (not including our much loved Janey Byrne) We've been run by The Daley Machine since the early 60's. We simply LOVE to give money to the poor and to support dubious causes. There is a reason for this however.....I think they call it kickbacks.

You're forgetting everyone's hero, Harold Washington. Jane Byrne (shudder) -- what a hideous creature. Thanks for the flashback!

He'd have to move up considerably to reach Jeb Bush territory...

Somewhere previously, an observant person inidcated he was tired of dynasties. I think that's pretty much a general belief among americans at this juncture.

Jeb might want to start filling-out job apps. Isn't he term-limited?

I wish you guy's could see Daley in action. To say he's an everyman would be an understatement. I'll try to find one of his rants....he gets really excited and starts lashing out with that south side gibberish which is almost English but not quite. GermanStar knows what I'm talking about. He's everybit as charming as the old man......Just check for your wallet if you ever get to shake his hand.

A couple from the old man.

RE: Is Hilary too radical to win?

Between now and election day Hillary could cure cancer, bring peace to the middle east and show up in D.C. with Osama's head in a bowling ball bag and she wouldn't get elected.

If she runs she will raise more money for the RNC than can be counted.
