RE: the new withdrawal plan

Does the withdrawal plan have anything to do with Rumsfeld's unannounced visit to his wife's vagina?

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address

RE: the new withdrawal plan

The assumptions behind the idea of a 'withdrawal plan' are that the reason this administration gave for going to war in the first place were honest. They weren't.
The reason there's no withdrawal plan is because the administration does not want to withdraw. They may want to reduce the number of troops but not withdraw them. The Neocons supported the war because it gives the US a strong presence in the Middle East and easy access to Central Asia. This is precisely what they want to secure energy resources in that part of the world. Did the British withdraw from India once they 'liberated' it?
