"Well, I guess that it comes as no surprise that I see child molestation as a crime and a powerless advisory role as a eunuch position."
How you get from this single-sentence, obvious compound declarative to a minor essay of analysis, is truly a work of art.
Rove is a political eunuch. He has no personal power. He serevs solely at the discretion of the president. He cannot be impeached by Congress and he cannot be compelled to testify in Congress since he enjoys Executive privelge. That is an over recognition of his powerlessness. Bush is the power, not Rove. You guys are wasting your time and effort whining about Rove. Bush is the guy responsible for all that maybe good or ill in his Administration.
Your child molestation extrapolation is just plain weird.
The claim you make that Rove is a political eunuch is not supported by your argument. The mere fact that his position has no power vested by Congress, and the fact that because of that he cannot be impeached by Congress or be compelled to testify has nothing to do with whether or not the President has vested in Rove power that is intended by the Constitution to be exercised by the Office of the President of the United States.
I agree that Bush should be required to explain Rove and his actions, authority and roles in various Office of the President of the United States responsibilities. While Bush is the one who was elected, it seems Rove is the one in charge and Bush is merely the one carrying out the Rove agenda. In fact, it seems without Rove we would not be afflicted with Bush.
The suggestion that Rove might be a child molester came up in a very specific context of suggesting there might be some level of behavior by Mr. Rove where even you might be revolted. As subtle as you tried to be, your selection of the phrase that included the word "eunuch" implied Mr. Rove was somehow incapable of being a child molester, or perhaps just unqualified, and therefore forever not guilty of the crime of child molestation. Your point was to make a case, however oblique, that Rove was not a child molester so the suggestion that child molestation might be the threshold where even you might find him unsuitable for any government positon did not need to be addressed. A knee-jerk defense of Rove by trying to paint him as some kind of powerless nincompoop in a meaningless, bureaucratic job who could never be judged by something so black and white bad as being accused of child molestation.
I neither suggested Rove was a child molester or that he was some kind of eunuch. All I said was his being a eunuch does not prevent him from being a child molester. This was in the context of clearing your knee-jerk defense away so the original context of the child molestation question could be put back up to be considered. I view Rove as the symbiotic hand of evil that slides into Bush's ass far enough to grasp control of his entire being, kind of unelected an anal puppetmaster from the dark side in control of the elected President. It does not excuse Bush, but it recognizes Rove is the operations manager regardless of his official position. To fantasize that Rove is just a little lost boy in the halls of our government is not very good use of time you could be spending thinking stuff like O'Reilly and his penchant for phone sex. Jim
