If Rove is responsible for the leak then I do not believe he should be held accountable under law. Everyone knows if Rove did this then he was being forced to act at loaded cigar point by Bill Clinton and threatened terribly by horrendous blackmail if he did not act within the demands set down by the DNC. The DNC ,btw, threatened to show substantial (false of course!) evidence that Rove is a known sociopath if he did not play along and let slip the dogs of war.

Please see Fox at Five for more details...

kvining, I find your constant utter shock and amazement at the perfidy of the ruling class amusing. I myself am about as shocked and amazed by it as I was when I went to a Dollar Store and found out the only thing they sell is cheap junk!

I cannot believe their defense is going to be that Rove said "Wilson's wife" instead of "Valerie Plame". If this stupid country buys that load of shit, we deserve to go down the friggin toilet.
Maybe they don't have to peddle that one. What if KKKarl didn't know she was undercover??? You have to knowingly reveal classified information for it to be a crime.....
Check this out:

Fox's Cameron parsed Bush's past statements on the fate of the CIA leaker: Bush "never actually said the word 'fired' "

mediamatters.org

Rather than presenting the facts about President Bush's past statements on the fate of administration officials found to have leaked the identity of covert CIA agent Valerie Plame, Fox News chief White House correspondent Carl Cameron claimed that Bush "never actually said the word 'fired.' " In fact, both Bush and White House press secretary Scott McClellan have clearly indicated that if found, the leaker would be fired. But Cameron attributed to "reporters and Democrats" suggestions that senior White House adviser Karl Rove could be fired for his role in outing Plame.

Bush at a June 10, 2004, press conference after the G8 summit:

Q: Given recent developments in the CIA leak case, particularly Vice President [Dick] Cheney's discussions with the investigators, do you still stand by what you said several months ago, a suggestion that it might be difficult to identify anybody who leaked the agent's name?

BUSH: That's up to --

Q: And, and, do you stand by your pledge to fire anyone found to have done so?

BUSH: Yes. And that's up to the U.S. attorney to find the facts.

McClellan at a September 29, 2003, press briefing:

McCLELLAN: The president has set high standards, the highest of standards for people in his administration. He's made it very clear to people in his administration that he expects them to adhere to the highest standards of conduct. If anyone in this administration was involved in it [the leaking of Plame's identity], they would no longer be in this administration.

[...]

Q: You continue to talk about the severity of this and if anyone has any information they should go forward to the Justice Department. But can you tell us, since it's so severe, would someone or a group of persons, lose their job in the White House?

McCLELLAN: At a minimum.

Q: At a minimum?

McCLELLAN: At a minimum.

From the July 11 edition of Fox News' Special Report With Brit Hume:

CAMERON: Early on in the leak's probe, the president himself said those responsible would be held accountable.

BUSH (clip): If there's a leak out of my administration, I want to know who it is. And if the person has violated law, the person will be taken care of.

CAMERON: The president never actually said the word "fired," but that is what some reporters and Democrats seemed to expect.

SENATE MINORITY LEADER HARRY REID [D-NV] (clip): The White House promised, if anyone was involved in the Valerie Plame affair, they would no longer be in this administration, his administration. I trust they will follow through on this pledge.

CAMERON: Democrats have already begun to call for Rove's political scalp. Some want him fired, others want him suspended with his security clearances revoked. And still others are calling for congressional hearings with Rove to testify in person.

Your assuming they haven't convinced themselves they are righteous, most always do, or at least tell themselves that is just the way it is and the public has no clue to what it takes to succeed and only you do. Botnst can take it from here.

Here's a story on a blog that might get big - this is a criminal case, and the RNC is going to try to "Dan Rather" it's way out of it. This stuff is amazing:

Exclusive: GOP talking points on Rove seek to discredit Wilson
RAW STORY

RAW STORY has obtained an exclusive copy of Republican talking points on Bush adviser Karl Rove's leaking the name of a CIA agent to a reporter, circulated by the Republican National Committee to "D.C. Talkers" in Washington.

The document, emblazoned with the words "Special Edition" and dated Tuesday, seeks to discredit claims put forth by Ambassador Joseph Wilson, whose wife was 'outed' as a covert operative by a conservative columnist. After obtaining copies of emails sent from a Time reporter to his editor, Newsweek fingered Rove as a source for the leak which disclosed the agent's identity.

The talking points mirror a release by Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman earlier Tuesday, in which he declared the attacks on Rove were spawned by the 'MoveOn' wing of the Democratic Party. MoveOn later accused the White House of a 'cover up.'

The talking points, acquired by RAW STORY, follow:

Where were you when Sandy Berger was stuffing classified documents down his intimate clothing and squirreling them out of their secure location, Kirk? That was more than just a suspicion of guilt.

Mr. Berger has pleaded guilty. No cover up, no BS, no political spin, the guy just went up and took it in the shorts. Why isn't Rove doing the same? This whole episode shows what a total sewer the GOP leadership is.

He may have pleaded guilty, but his penance will be commodious for certain. I only wanted to know why there was no similar outrage from our Houstonic (I made that word up) alliances.

Hey, aren't you supposed to be working right now Kirk?
