RE: Frist - Flip-Flops on Command from Fuehrer Bush
Frist has gone from Heir Apparent to National Bozo in just a few short weeks. Right now, the dems are having a huge laugh over a speech Frist gave during the Shiavo debacle, where Dr Frist claimed to be able to tell from watching a video of Shiavo that she was cognizant and rehabilitatable, and "able to respond to 'visual stimulation' ". Contrasted to the fact the M.E. found that not only was Shiavo's brain pretty much shot as far as brains go - she was blind as a bat to boot. Now the guy not only looks like a total bozo as a senator, he looks like he ain't much of a doctor either. Add to that the spanking McCain gave him by making him irrelvant in the filibuster compromise, and now everyone discovering that he does what Bush tells him too, and I think Bozo would actually out poll him in an election.
The Senate Majority Leader is supposed to be the head of one of the co-equal branches of goverment, not some ass-kiss. Both Lott and Dole would have told Bush to get bent (one of the reasons Lott was replaced with this ass-kiss), even if they agreed with him, just to maintain the preogratives of the Senate. Frist was put in place to give Bush what he wants the most - rubber stamp government. So far Frist can't deliver. He's got boot licking down pat, but the leadership part still eludes him. I think this is going to pretty much knock this snivling little religious fascist out of the presidential running. Good news for McCain (gee, mayber thats why he screwd him on the filibuster? Its about time John learned how to play dirty).
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
