RE: ROAD TRIP!!!
I took an odd job driving a moving van to Maine from Atlanta in a couple of weeks. So, I've got a road trip ahead of me! On the way back, I'm employing amtrak, a regional bus carrier, my sister's car, my favorite airline, and hopefully a boat somehow... the planes, trains, and automobiles tour 2005. When I get home, it's time to get my new/old motorcycle running, and learn how to ride it.
Best part of the trip is a week of relaxation on cape cod.
I got a new mp3 player for the trip, as the moving van will have am/fm only, and that's unacceptable. I just hope it's a diesel. I wish I could take the TD, but not this time.
I always take it to pittsburgh a couple times/yr, and usually to florida and/or D.C. once or twice as well. She's just kicked over 360k. I'm glad the a/c works; it's been 90+ here already, and I have a hunch this summer is going to be brutal.
KV, If you do the blue ridge, make sure to hit Mt. Mitchell in NC. It's the highest point in the US east of the Mississippi, and looks much like alpine canada at the summit (which you can regrettably drive up). It's gorgeous. Looking Glass Rock (mt?) is also very cool, and you'll get a view of that from the parkway. Parkway posted speed is 45, and in some places that's a bit excessive. Be careful, and smell the wild roses.
