Nah, by the 1980's I'd shifted from being the solution to being the problem. Married, kids, mortgage, credit cards. All of those velvet ropes that bind us comfortably to mediocrity.

My bit was in the 1960's, I think. I can't remember for sure.
Far out!!
The pharmacopaea that passed through my mind, lodged, and passed again! It's a miracle that I never got caught because it sure as heck wasn't because I was smart! It was a great time and a terrible time to come of age. Great because the limits on the mind were self-imposed but terrible for the same reason. I'm thinking when I'm in my 80's or so a mescaline ticket to the center of my mind might be interesting. Here's why.

Several weeks ago I visited a place I'd never been before but it was similar to other experiences. I had a sense or feeling that somewhere I'd find a spot where, if I closed my eyes, I'd have one of those Billy Pilgrim moments where I would be lost in the confluence of time, not firmly wedded to either stream. I was right, too. For a few moments at a time I could close my eyes and remember when I had exactly the same thoughts, 40 years ago.

Anybody can do it. It just takes acceptance and the proper stimuli.
