RE: Don't be a victim of "mainstream" media.
Again I have to respond with a resounding "yes", please pull the plug on me. You apparently have a different opinion and I can respect that. Personal attacks like calling someone else's beliefs stupid are not going to win you brownie points in a hostile audience.
What you should try to do is focus on one thing at a time. Right to die is the primary argument I'm making here, but it's getting all confused over who has the power to make that decision for Terri. Do you want to fight both fronts, or just the latter? It's OK when people have different opinions about personal matters so I would refrain from using the "would you then want to be starved and dehydrated slowly to death?" arguments since you're essentially questioning other's personal beliefs. This is like me trying to convert you to "insert offensive religion's name here" when you don't want to be converted.
One last comment on the subject. It's pretty clear that you haven't had to deal with any close family members in this sort of state. While I've held my belief in the right to die for most of my life it was very clearly solidified after my grandmother's stroke. More accurately for the three months between her stroke and her clinical death (my grandmother as we knew her died when she had the stroke).
Back to the more discussion-worthy decision-making judgements. In absense of written instructions in most states the closest relative gets to make these decisions. Spouse trumps parents in all cases unless there is enough evidence for the parents to make a criminal case against the husband. There was not enough evidence so your conspiracy theories have to include that the parents were in on the attack and only recently got cold feet.
Regarding the autopsy timeframes, don't you think that a death that barely made the local papers could be a little bit lax but one that the entire nation (and this did make world news) is watching you'd better double and triple check everything?
