"our anemic all-volunteer force"
I don't know where in the hell you've been, but I've spent the last nine months in Baghdad with the 101st Airborne, 82nd Airborne, 1st Cavalry and 3rd Infantry Divisions. And don't even start on the United States Marines that are stationed in Anbar Province. And the conduct and dedication of the Army Reservists and National Guard troops that are here...Anemic? You are totally friggin' clueless...
I'm not going to lend kvining specific intentions but I see at least a couple possibilities he could have been referring to in this statement.
1) Rumsfeld smaller, nimbler vision of the military, which had alrady been downsized by two divisions under Cliton's presidency. By the way, the Pentagon announced a couple of weeks ago new plans to close bases, affecting over 20,000 military personnel, and an undisclosed amount of consultants and civilians who have businesses built around these bases
2) Recruiting is way down

Be safe out there, and come back safely!

Edit: I'm pretty confident that his commentary was not meant as criticism of the resolve and dedication of our troops. kvining may be against the war, but he is also a supporter of the men and women who put their lives on the line, regardless of the merits of the conflict and reasons for going into war.

“I feel so miserable without you; it’s almost like having you here.”

There was war... before we joined it... difference... we are now involved.

And we were involved before... 10 Billion a year x 2 + more.

Act like this is new... is bull sh...

Who did not commit a crime?

Go through the proper channels and frame him.

Sit on the other side of the world and shake your head for another 200 years...

Somebody has been killing somebody since the dawn... and high noon will surely be comming...

If you swear non violence... you'll get to heaven much faster I hear.

Whats the stupidist course of action possible?

Thats probably what we should do.
