Bali drugs verdict

I was a little surprise of hearing that someone was trying to smuggle drugs in Bali, because I would think of the reverse. If she had 9lbs of drugs in her suitcase, I am very surprised how she made it through the Australian Airport.

I travel a lot and after 9/11 I am concern that we cannot lock our luggage anymore. Every time I travel I wonder if someone will be in my suitcase because there is no lock on it.

RE: Bali drugs verdict

It's not the surprising - Bali is the big party-playground for Oz, and the draconian drug laws of Indonesia, where dope dealers are usually executed quickly after a short trial, probably makes selling weed to the party crowd immensely profitable since the local suppliers are all dead. She is sympathetic because she is knock-out cold good looking, but she is probably guilty as hell. She should be gratefult they didn't shoot her or whip her to death. She will most likely be eventually repatriated to an Austrailian prison and paroled after a few years.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
