RE: George Galloway Vs. U.S. Senate
Actually, there is a real reason this is so - the libel laws are much stricter in Britain, one of the main reasons Rupert Murderdick wished to move the focus of his often-sued press operations from London to the US. In America, as soon as Galloway was perceived as a threat by the GOP Ministry of Information, he would have been portrayed as "unbalanced due to torture", as was the case of McCain when he became a threat to their Mafia Don, or "crazy" when Dean surged, or just about any libel in the book as was the case with Kerry. In fact, when Murderdick's papers printed these allegations in Britain against Galloway, Galloway sued them and won. He has threatened to sue Fox's British branches if they libel him here on the tube or on the Internet, which is the main reason the smear jobn on Galloway has not materialized. If those same libel laws, which are meant to enforce truth telling rather than to surpress speech, where in force here, Fox New's hatchet men, O'reily and Hannity, and that sniveling fascist bootlicker Limbaugh, would be in court in a minute, required to prove the validity of the lying puke they put on the airwaves every day.
The takeover of America using the press as a virtual organ of the corporate globalists and their political stooges has been planned and executed by Murderdick and the oil companies long before Iraq was invaded. We now pay the price for letting a fascist-style Ministry of Information enter our political life. The only way to stop them is to do the only thing they understand - take their money by suing them, and the only way the people of this country will have a chance at getting laws passed so we can do just that, is kick these connivers out of office.
The only thing that went wrong was Senator Pig Coleman, who apparently started thinking on his own, proved what many suspect, that he is an incredibly dumb SOB. The only thing one can conclude is that Coleman has a libel-proof pulpit - he could smear Galloway and then Fox could report it as "news". The GOP far right and Fox are working crap like that behind the scenes all the time. This time, it blew up oin there face, because they happened to pick on a guy who wasn't afraid to speak truth to power.
One thing not noted in the news stories - all the other Republican senators, who apparently were smart enough to see this as a stupid idea, took a powder - they weren't even in the room when Galloway testified, leaving Pig to take it in the balls, resulting in Fox remaining silent, as the "news" story now contained an embarrassing fact that is just now being noticed by the majority of Americans: all our kids died for a pack of damned lies.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
