RE: 300SE fuel pump relay-location??

On the HT leads, only original MB leads have resistors that screw on/off. Replacement HT leads are one piece, all the way from dist cap to spark plug. So it'll depend on which ones have been installed.

Where are you located ? I am happy to meet you and you can try out the ful pump relay from my 300SE. I can also test to confirm whether it's fuel pump relay or ECU voltage issue. And I have a spare HT lead if you require. ( I have far too many spares in my garage at home!)

I am near Heathrow airport, based in Uxbridge. Could always meet somewhere and I can take a look for you.

Email me on sharanbains@hotmail.com if I can be of assistance.

RE: 300SE fuel pump relay-location??

If there were a problem with the ECU than I would suspect you’d experience more pronounced problems such as rough idle and stalls, not just a dead engine. The ECU is item five in the picture below. The ECU receives data from the many system sensors, such as the engine temp sensor, and uses that information to make needed adjustments to the fuel system via switches and valves, such as the EHA, item four (“pressure actuator). Since you are not experiencing any of the associated problems with a bad ECU, I think you’re safe to replace the relay.

Mine had a dry joint.Try resoldering the internal joints & keeping it as a spare.
