By the way KV, while I'm convinced that it was a typo and while he may resemble a russet, his name is Russert![:D]
It was shorter than "Mr. Potato Head". Colmes is a stooge for sure, thats why Fox hired him. Hannity is a political operative for the Republican Party, and Colmes is there to make dems look stupid.

I agree with webwrench. Hannity is the Elmer Gantry of the talking head set. I hope he gets caught in bed with Michael Jackson.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

None, I'm a news talk junkie (both left and right view points). They all have their strong and weak points.

RE: Which talking head do you despise the most?

I don't think I could despise anybody that I don't know personally. That includes mass murderers, child molesters and politicians. Since I don't know any of the newsies personally, they're just walkie-talkie gasbag names.

My favorites to listen to are the two Chris's (Matthews and Wallace), Tim Russert, Tony Snow, and Brit Hume. I enjoy the brothers Hitchens. Also that guy on C-SPAN, Brian Lamb(?) that used to do the book reviews and author interviews. He never seemed to let his personal politics (whatever they might be) interfere with his subject. I like folks who are careful and smart and who can admit they're wrong and that a political perspective is not the same as the truth. Though it maybe.

I don't have much time for Limbaugh/Hannity/Colmes/Oprah/etc. Waste of time.

I can't stand that former Clinton neoliberal economist stooge Ev Ehrlich. He's always polluting my NPR "All Things Considered" programming with his polyannish pontifications about how shipping jobs and industrial capacity overseas is such a grand and glorious solution to a problem we didn't know we even had--whadda twit! I despise that nattering nabob Todd Gitlin too--putz. I'm learning to loath Kos and his loathsome cadre of Democrat hack bloggers as well.

...oh, and all those conservative jokers too--pox on the lot of em.

A tough vote for sure, but mine would go to someone not on your list--Robert Novak. What a smarmy, self-important dolt he is.

soooooo....did you intentionally call her "webwrench"? While her comments are peceptive and piercing, I'd never have the stones to call her a wrench. It has too many negative possibilities...especially for those of us with "stones"[:D]

I know they hired him to make Hannity look good. I hate being manipulated; even if it is by my own guys. I'd rather him debate any of the lefties on this site than a stooge. Honestly, if I'm at my buddy's house and he's watching H&C, I find an excuse to do something else. I've prollyt rearrainged my sock drawer a hundred times by now[:p]

Hannity and Colmes for sure, and then it's a toss up between O'Reilly and that Jim Rome guy on ESPN.

All hail the Sixteen Men of Tain!

RE: Which talking head do you despise the most?

Don't know if it's bad or good, but the only names I even recognized were the first 2 (after the Potato Head post, that is). And that's just from watching the TV Guide channel to see what's on. I get all my news / politics from either Google or our postdoc. It saves time. While forming my own political opinions, etc, I save even more time by assuming that everybody sucks unless they prove otherwise. This frees me up for important stuff like The Dukes of Hazzard and American Chopper.
