funny/sad BMW pictures

This is the second generation M5. The first and second generation M5s were hand built at the M factory, unlike the V8 and V10 M5s. It is much more understated and classy than the new M5. The new M5 has lost all of the taste and class of previous M5s. It is now just a rich man's Subaru WRX. All second generation M5s have forged aluminum wheels. The new M5s doesn't have forged aluminum wheels. This particular M5 has four-piston caliper brakes.

What I find interesting is that the 2006 Pontiac Solstice looks better than the BMW Z4.

RE: funny/sad BMW 5 series pictures

The Pontiac Solstice came out as a concept at the 2002 Detroit auto show in January, 2002. It was shown last year at the Detroit auto show in production form.

Here is a 2004 BMW 525i and a Kia Rio. The Kia Rio first came out as a 2001 model. Notice the trunk lines and the lines above the fenders that go into the taillights.

Overhyped, understyled, poorly executed, and totally unnecessary. But that's only my opinion.

RE: funny/sad BMW pictures

The 8 series should have been based on the chassis of the 89-95 BMW 5 series, but it is still a nice car. It doesn't have cheap interior materials like many of today's BMWs. Every 850CSi came with forged aluminum wheels, just like the 89-95 M5. Here is an 850CSi.

Here is more information on the 8 series.

It is still ugly. The new M6 has the same engine as the M5 yet it doesn't have side vents so why does the M5 have them? The interior is a joke for $85,000.

RE: funny/sad BMW pictures

A good friend of mine bought a new 530i. He peeled a yellow paper warning sticker off the front dash, AND THE DASH PAINT CAME OFF TOO! His BMW dealership told him, that the factory paints the color on the dashes to go with seat color, and that the color is not molded in the plastic. Get a scratch (or peel a sticker) and off comes the color. He took the car back and got his money back. Every penney. He ended up buying a '95 SL500 (MB) and loves it. Also, the Z4 is ugly as hell. Way too long looking, and the nose is strange.
